Finasteride/Propecia

About Finasteride (Propecia)

Finasteride (Propecia) can be an excellent treatment of male pattern hair loss for men in the early stages of the condition. It comes in the form of a one-a-day pill, which blocks the formation of DHT, a hormone which causes folilicles to shrink an eventually stop growing hair. If caught early enough, Finasteride can stabilise hair loss and even thicken the hair. Best results can be seen in the crown and mid-scalp areas. However, it can also assist hair loss issues in the frontal region of the scalp. Finasteride should only be prescribed for men and should never be taken by women or children.
